Add some light Leaks to your FCP clips

Our good friends at CrumplePop just released a new Final Cut Pro plugin file kit (?), Lumineux which emulates the light leaking effects of old lenses. Take a look:

While the usage in the demo clips may be a little over the top, this is something that is getting quite trendy (if not, why would they have made the product in the first place?) with the increasing popularity of mounting old lenses on HDSLRs.

  • I was very surprised to see that Lumineux was for FCP X and wondered if CrumplePop knew something new about how filters will be supported in the upcoming new version of FCP, since CrumplePop is a well known plugin developer. I too thought that it was some sort of generator, however, this product is not a plugin. It is a collection ProRes clips that can be layered in FCP or any other NLE that supports Quicktime. That being said, I purchased Lumineux yesterday and think that it’s well worth the $49 (newsletter subscribers can get a $20 discount.) The collection includes almost 60 clips and work very well in FCP.
