Since the announcement/release of the USB Follow Focus, a few people asked me my opinion on how it would compare to the Jag35 Electronic Follow Focus. Unfortunately, I have not played with the USD FF yet so all my comments are based on what I saw in the published material and their website. The Okii USB controller Usability Easy to ...

Gorgeous Iceland movie: Winter in Hell

I went to Iceland last year (you can read about it here) and while I was there during the eruption of Eyjafjallajokull, my view was far from interesting. Fortunately for us, some others were luckier and captured some amazing footage. Here is Enrique story. Winter 2010, the stunning landscape of Iceland succumb to the arctic cold. Beaches and lakes get ...

Very cool stop motion of a 5DMrkII Rig

Lance just sent me this video. That is one nice rig and the video clearly shows all of its components. Lance managed to do something I have not done yet: have a rig made out of parts from various manufacturer that does not look like a Christmas tree! Good job. The only thing missing would be a cool soundtrack.

While the Eye book tag line was Composition and Design for Better Digital Photos, the Mind book ...

Looking at the comments on the ...

1000fps using only Final Cut Studio

Patrick from CrumplePop (btw go check their products) just sent me info about his workflow to achieve ridiculous slow motion effect without using Twixtor. The process is quite simple: shooting at 60fps and retiming in Motion using optical flow then play back the clip at 24fps. and the result: I have to admit the results are pretty good. I tested ...

I read this a while ago on Marc Andre Cournoyer blog (A Montreal based Ruby developer) Knowing where you’re going greatly increase your chances of getting there. and loved the idea of setting yearly goals. Since posting them on the internet would increase their odds of success, here is my list for 2011: Double daily traffic on this blog While ...
